The Final Push!

Hello hello!

I apologize for my absence lately! As we are all aware, school is coming to a close... and that means schoolwork, schoolwork, and more schoolwork! If it's not a paper that needs work, it's a test that needs studying for. And if it's not a test, it's a group meeting that requires your attendance! My social life is slowly closing its doors, and I'm sure lots of you know exactly what I'm talking about! However, I did have the opportunity to attend two very fun events this past weekend in the midst of all the madness.

Friday night I attended Pride and Prejudice, which was held in the Emmett Robinson Theatre, to support several of my friends who were in the show. This is a CofC production, so tickets for students and faculty are only $10! The show was absolutely remarkable! If you are looking for something to do either tonight or tomorrow night at 8:00 pm, I suggest seeing it! The director puts a fun spin on the story by adding a lot of funny snippets. Immediately after the show ended, all I wanted to do was reread the book and watch the movie again! Ah! I'm a sap... I'll admit it.
Saturday night I had the opportunity to attend Charleston Affair as a date to one of my senior friends! I had such a fantastic time! The music was great, the staff were friendly, and the food was delish! Jim 'n Nicks catered and I hovered over the cheese biscuit table to wait for when they came out of the oven! Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera. That is definitely something I won't forget next year when I go!

So here we are... the last full week of classes. I can't believe how fast my junior year flew by. I'm not going to get all nostalgic, readers. Don't worry about that! I am really, truly looking forward to this summer. Too many good things are happening in the future to be looking back on the past! In precisely three weeks I will be traveling to Europe! I cannot WAIT! Hopefully I'll return with some great stories to share. But in the meantime, I'll keep my focus directed towards the going-ons of Charleston.

This is a big week for the Charleston River Dogs, a Yankee-affiliated minor league baseball team located right in the Holy City. As a true New Yorker, I am obliged to support the Yankees, and living in Charleston really seals the deal for my support of the River Dogs! Opening day is right around the corner, so make sure you attend some games this season. It definitely makes for a good time! Check out the River Dogs' website for full details!

In other news, there is a great event being held in the Stern Center Gardens on Thursday night. Green CofC is an event dedicated to addressing the "green fees" we may be paying in Charleston. This meeting is also discussing the efforts that the College of Charleston is providing to make our campus a greener place. The event runs from 5:00-7:00 pm and Black Bean Company (yum!) is catering the event. Bring your friends and learn about the ways our students are trying to save the Earth!

    Happy Readings!
